Pre-K and Kinder Prep Student Life Milestones at OHCS
Kinder Prep
Kinder Prep provides children their first formal educational experience, fostering tremendous growth intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Students transition from dependence towards greater independence and school readiness.
Teachers guide children in pre-literacy, language acquisition, mathematical thinking, motor skills, and social-emotional development. Students learn letter recognition, sounds, vocabulary, numbers, counting, sorting, following directions, and presenting to classmates.
Christian values such as self-control, honor, wisdom, and stewardship shape character. Interactive activities like music, art, and imaginative play engage growing minds. Field trips and specialists add enrichment.
By nurturing curiosity, creativity, and faith in a loving environment, Kinder Prep paves the way for future learning. Students gain essential skills to flourish in Kindergarten and begin realizing their unique God-given gifts.

Pre-K (3-Year-Olds)
Pre-K marks an introduction to school routines and early learning concepts. Students are emerging from dependence on parents and acquiring essential skills for the transition to Kindergarten.
Our nurturing teachers guide children through building social-emotional, cognitive, and motor competencies. Pre-K students learn to share, follow directions, communicate needs, and regulate behavior and emotions appropriately. Academically, pre-literacy foundations are established as students identify letters, sounds, colors, shapes, and numbers. Early mathematical thinking also develops through counting, sorting, and comparing quantities. Creative expression is encouraged through music, art, and imaginative play. Curious minds blossom as pre-K students engage in observation, exploration, and discovery. Field trips and specialists add enrichment.
Pre-K fosters independence, confidence, and faith to ready children for the adventures of elementary school and beyond. Our loving Christian environment allows each student’s unique personality and gifts to shine.
