The Oak Harbor Christian School Society
The Oak Harbor Christian School Society is the governing body that oversees school operations. This group meets annually to elect new members to the Board of Trustees, review finances, set policy, and conduct other critical business.
Society membership is open to all OHCS parents and supporters who commit to upholding the constitutional basis of the school. Your involvement is vital to guiding the school!

Meet the Oak Harbor Christian School Board of Trustees
AJ Tordini: President and Treasurer
AJ is a father whose children both attend OHCS. AJ and his wife, Stephanie, have volunteered in many activities at OHCS during the past two years. They have attended Family Bible Church since moving to Oak Harbor in 2019. Their faith is the most important part of their family. He is currently a Navy Reservist here at NASWI and a captain flying for Delta Airlines. He has a career of leadership and excels in organization, communication and finances.

Mary Beth Eelkema, Secretary
Mary Beth is blessed with a Christian family and 16 years of a Christian education. She continued that path by teaching in Christian schools and has worked at OHCS for more than 30 years, serving as a teacher, reading specialist and principal, Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church has been hers and her husband, Steve's, faith community for more than 40 years. She loves teaching children, spending time with family and friends, walking, reading, gardening and OHCS.

Julie Fakkema: Vice-President
Julie Fakkema was raised in Oak Harbor and had the privilege of attending Oak Harbor Christian School starting in first grade in 1968. She is pleased to be a descendant of one of the founders of OHCS, Mr. Chris Fakkema.
Miss Fakkema is immensely grateful for the grounding she received in scripture at OHCS, and for the lifelong friendships she still enjoys. She was also a beloved teacher at OHCS from 2003 to 2010. During that time she instilled in all her students a strong understanding of the Bible and the ability to think critically. She feels honored to have been serving in the OHCS Board since 2017, and inspired by the growth she has witnessed. Ms. Fakkema is looking forward to seeing all of the great things God has planned for our great school!

Bob Harrison
Bob Harrison is a passionate US Navy retired pilot. He lives in Oak Harbor with his wife. Avid about Christian education, Mr. Harrison’s academic background includes Warner Pacific College, Stanford University, San Diego State University and the History University of Houston, among others.
He is an active member at Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church and is currently serving in the Board of directors at Development Companions International.
